"It was an extraordinary advancement in that field of wire work, " Bullock says.
Despite the gruelling nature of the scenes, Bullock says it was made easier by the support of the crew.
"You get your ass in that harness and you get yourself in that rig and you figure it out together.
"It became part of what I could contribute, which was physical and emotional, to execute Alfoso's beautiful and extraordinary story."

The sci-film won seven awards at this year's Academy Awards, including Best Director for Cuaron and various technical awards.
"Zero G (gravity) is something that hadn't been cracked before and the concept of how do you realistically, believably do it, " Sir William Sargent said in an interview with BBC News.
He added: "We're very lucky to work at the top of our field and with many films you're not certain how you're going to crack it and just hope that you have the answers, and luckily we did."
