This has been one life-changing awards season for .
The Swedish actress had her breakout role in The Danish Girl, starring opposite Academy Award winner, and not only did she receive her first Oscar nomination tonight—she's taking home a golden statue.
Vikander won the award for Best Supporting Actress at the 88th Annual Academy Awards, and after giving a kiss to beau and showing some love to her mother, the star took the stage in her gorgeous Louis Vuitton gown and was in complete disbelief.
"This is insane. Wow. Thank you so much, the academy for this incredible recognition, " she said while out of breath.
"I share this with our fabulous crew and cast and I want to thank Gale and Anne and Nina and Working Title and Focus and Tom, where are you? My director, " she continued.
"Thank you so much for your support and belief in me."
And then, we got emotional, because Vikander called out Redmayne and he was getting all choked up. "Eddie, there you are. Thank you for being the best acting partner. I could have never done it without you. You raised my game."
Vikander closed with, "I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my dream team, which is Teresa, Charles, Laura, I want to thank my friends and my mom and dad. Thank you for giving me the belief that anything can happen even though I would have never believed this. Thank you."
