“The big surprise here is that ‘The LEGO Movie’ wasn’t nominated, ” The Washington Post’s Stephanie Merry wrote after surveying the animated feature film category. (The Post gave the film a three-and-a-half star review.)
The non-nomination prompted Phil Lord, who co-wrote and co-directed “The Lego Movie” with Christopher Miller, to tweet this perfect response:
He then added (more or less) that everything is, in fact, awesome.
This is not a tragedy. Congrats to incredible crew and cast of The Lego Movie, who made a classic.

For his part, Miller had a slightly less enthusiastic take.

Imma let you finish but the Lego Movie had one of the best crews of all time. Of all time.
