Tied with "American Hustle" for most nominations heading into the night, "Gravity" led the pack with seven awards, taking the tech categories as expected and major prizes for Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron, Best Cinematography for Emmanuel Lubezki, Best Original Score for Steven Price and Best Editing. But when it came to the big prize, it was "12 Years A Slave" that nabbed Best Picture, in addition to prizes for Best Adapted Screenplay for John Ridley, and Best Supporting Actress for Lupita Nyong'o.
Meanwhile, "American Hustle" was completely shut out, taking home nothing after earning 10 nominations. The film joins "True Grit" and "Gangs Of New York" in the 0-10 Oscar trivia books.
Among the surprises, Spike Jonze took home a trophy for Best Original Screenplay for "Her, " while "The Great Gatsby" wound up a two-time Oscar winner thanks to Costume and Production Design. Full list of winners below.
